As a team, write a complete draft of your design specification, including all of the details for your design, meeting all of the criteria specified in the specification grading rubric and specification details page. This homework will be graded on effort (in terms of whether you included all of the required elements), but we will also provide feedback on the grade you would receive if this were your final draft.
It is in your best interest to treat this as the final version because this is the last guaranteed opportunity to get detailed feedback from us. Moreover, this is your chance to see a preview of your final grade on the specification before you turn in the final version.
As with the first draft, only one of your team members need to submit the draft to Google Apps. It should be named 'homework 7 - TEAM NAME', with team name matching the one in your document.
We will grade these against the required content, not for quality, so if you included content for all of the requirements, you should get 2/2.
Once you submit, your specification reader (your TA) will not provide feedback or preliminary grades on your submitted draft until you ask for it.
You get one feedback chance on 2/24 - YES or NO
If you choose YES, you will get a preliminary grade on 3/1.
- Pros: Early feedback and your team gets a longer chance to make changes.
- Cons: Must work really hard now!
If you choose NO, you will not get a preliminary grade on 3/1, but you can still get feedback later. Just submit as an email and we’ll get you feedback within 4 days.
- Pros: Can submit something with more quality.
- Cons: Closer to deadline, a lot more work towards the end with other deadlines.
My advice is to choose YES but it is understandable if you are not ready for a preliminary grade.
Note that we can only promise detailed feedback once before the final deadline. If you want more feedback, get it from your classmates or other people (if you ask for feedback in the right away, it will be just as useful as the feedback you get from us). Plan your schedule accordingly.
