Please compare and contrast the goals, strategies, characteristics, etc. of first generation and second generation feminist arts in the United States. To do this, I would like you to choose two artists from the first generation (Schneemann, Edelson, Mendieta, Chicago, Womanhouse) and one artist from the second generation (Kruger or Sherman). Use only one work of your chosen artists as your main example—this is to emphasize the importance of going into detailed analysis of your examples. The length of your essays may vary, but between 5-7 double-spaced pages seems the appropriate range for these essays. These are due by midnight, Sunday 2/7.
