Academic Alerts and Supporting Students in Need

EAB Navigate is the coordinated support and communications platform used at UWB—connecting faculty, advisors, and support services with our students. Through EAB Navigate, all faculty can issue “Academic Alerts” for their students for a number of reasons including low attendance or assessments, a need for tutoring referral, or personal challenges affecting academic work. Submitting an Academic Alert for your students is an essential step in connecting them with the help and resources they need to succeed at UWB. For further training on Navigate, please consult these resources.

Once your NetID is active and you've begun teaching students, you can log on to EAB Navigate directly to submit an alert.

Technologies used for teaching

Information Technology provides faculty with a range of resources and support around classroom and academic technology. The Digital Learning team offers support and training services with course design, Canvas, Panopto lecture capture, Poll Everywhere, Zoom, accessible content, Universal Design for Active Learning, pedagogies for on ground, hybrid and online teaching, and much more.

Grading

UW Bothell uses a numerical 4.0 grading system. Individual programs may differ slightly on the grading scale. Check with your school administrator for more information.

Towards the ends of every quarter, the Registrar's office sends out a reminder to faculty along with deadlines and instructions.

The UW's Student Conduct Code articulates policies and procedures governing student academic and behavioral conduct. Academic expectations and practices with regard to collaborating and copying can differ across cultures, so it is important that you discuss the university's academic integrity policies with your students.

Report suspected academic misconduct to the Student Conduct Student Conduct staff are also happy to consult if you are not sure how you should move forward. If you have reported misconduct and are waiting on an outcome, we advise that you submit an X grade.

Disability Resources for Students (DRS)

The Disability Resources for Students (DRS) office provides accommodations for students with disabilities. If a student needs an accommodation and is registered with the DRS office, you will receive an email letting you know what steps you need to take.
