Husky Dining and Utilities Accounts - "Dawg Bucks"

Your UW account is going to have two separate accounts. If you live in the dorms or UW apartments (including the Commodore Duchess, Links to an external site. Stevens Court, Nordheim Court, or Cedar West/East) you pay for both a utilities and dining account.

Most people tend to have too much money on their dining account, but the good news is that HFS allows you to change your dining level (1 being the lowest, 5 being the highest). I'd suggest starting lower on the dining level plan, and working your way up if you need more money for food.

Dining money also applies to the District Market (the DM), so you can pay for gifts or expensive appliances near the end of the quarter to use your remaining balance. You should also know that your dining account balance will roll over to the next quarter, but will expire at the end of your academic year.

Where to Spend Dining Bucks

Motosurf - A really great food truck that serves above-par Hawaiian food on campus. There's a truck on campus, but also a place in the HUB.

The other food trucks - They're okay I guess, but variety is always nice to have.

The Rotunda Cafe and other UW Cafes - They're all willing to accept dining dollars and serve better food and drink than Local Point (LoPo) and Center Table (CT).

Spending Utility Dollars

This account is a lower balance (unless you load up on it separately) that allows you to pay for printing, laundry, but also food at the UW Medical Center. This balance needs to be reloaded separately from your dining account, so use it sparingly. You can also use this money at the UBookstore.

The UW Medical Center has the Plaza Cafe (which is the hospital cafe). I basically live in the medical center, so I like it. Food is way better priced (pizza and a drink is 4.50), but the Rotunda is also a great option for price and quality.
