Navigating Campus
During normal times, you'll have access to the UPass, which is a part of your Husky card and tuition. It allows you to have unlimited bus and light rail fare. Take advantage of that fact, since that means you can take a bus that stops on West or North Campus and just hitch a ride into campus.
I used to wake up 10 minutes before my 8:30 AM lecture, and wait for the bus, and get to Bagley Hall in about 2 minutes (versus the 7 minutes walking from Maple Hall). It was all perfectly fine with the bus driver, and since we have unlimited money, you can do this too!
I would also suggest downloading "One Bus Away" off the app store since that gives all the bus times and routes for the Seattle bus system. In general, public transportation is super reliable in Seattle, so enjoy it.
The light rail Links to an external site. is also going to expand all around the Greater Seattle area in the next two to three years, so go and explore! I don't remember any of my failed midterms, but I do remember the random misadventures I've had with my friends around Magnolia, Madison Park, or other parts of Seattle.
Google Maps
No shame in googling a building on campus. There are buildings I haven't been to/I don't know about, and I've been here for four-and-a-half years now.
Cutting Through Buildings
If you know a building blocks your path from where you are to where you want to go, just cut through it. It can be a bit maze-like depending on where you are, but before classes start, explore your route to class. It can save you time and steps when you're taking in-person classes.
