Now that you know what a hard skill is, don't be afraid to consider how you might make money on the side.

I edit for a number of clients and write for magazines. Both of these pay (not a lot), but just enough for me to save money and to have some pocket money for things I like to do like eating out with friends.

Don't be afraid to look into RSOs, Craigslist, and other message boards/forums for freelance gigs. Take advantage of the technical knowledge you have, and you can make a nice sum of money over time.
