Directions:

For this assignment, you are to analyze the different proposal examples you read for today (along with a few extras I added). Each group will be assigned a different proposal to analyze and you will share your responses with the class once everyone is completed. Only one group member per group must submit your responses to Canvas, but make sure everyone’s name is on it.

Group 3 - “Addiction to Social Media: How to Overcome It” (from homework)

Group 4 - “My Free-Range Parenting Manifesto” (from homework)

2. Which proposal are you focusing on?
3. Summarize the proposal. What is it about?
4. What kind of proposal is it (proposal about practice or proposal about policy)?
5. What is the main goal of the proposal? 
6. What is the claim? 
7. What are the reasons? 
8. What are the possible effects if the proposal is successful/unsuccessful?
9. Does the goal seem feasible? Why or why not?
10. What kind of evidence does the author use to support their claim? Is there enough of it?
11. Who is the audience for the proposal? How can you tell?
12. Does the author establish any credibility? If so, how? Does this impact the successfulness of the proposal?
13. Does the author use any kind of media other than text? If so, does it add anything to the proposal? If not, would the proposal benefit from some imagery/better design?
14. Do you consider the proposal to be successful? Why or why not?
