Module 10: How does archaeology change what we know about the Nazi Death Camps?
Overview
We will use archaeological and historical data to investigate the lives of people who suffered in the Holocaust. We will explore the relevance of these results for understanding the legacy of genocide in contemporary society.
Objectives
- Understand how archaeologists use archaeological and historical data to answer questions about historical events
- Investigate the role of archaeology to confront stigmatised knowledge, e.g. Holocaust denial
- Create maps, interactive visualisations, and perform hypothesis tests by simulation on archaeological data of Holocaust archaeological
- Write a reproducible report that presents archaeological data to demonstrate the material reality of the Holocaust

- Before Tuesday's class complete 10.3 and 10.4 on Perusall
- Poll Everywhere responses during scheduled class time
- Complete the Module 10 Lab report, you can work on this online in RStudio on JupyterHub. We will demonstrate how to do the lab in class on Tuesday, then you will submit your completed lab before the following Tuesday's class. You have one week to complete the lab after seeing the demonstration in class.
