The Service Learning Advisory Committee is the governing body that is responsible for approving service learning and advocacy projects so they are considered official programs of the University of Washington. The group supports students in creating and developing innovative and sustainable service learning and advocacy projects, which are rooted in core principles of equity, partnership, and mutual benefit. Additionally, the SLAC ensures that all participants have appropriate liability coverage and adequate training / licensing to carry out responsibilities associated with service learning projects. | |
How to become a SLAC Representative | |
The Service Learning Advisory Committee is composed of UWSOM faculty, staff and importantly, student representatives. If you are interested in becoming a member of this committee review the SLAC Representative Application Process for instructions. Applications are accepted at the beginning of the academic year. | |
SLAC Meeting Information | |
SLAC meetings are open for students, staff, and faculty to attend as desired. Meetings take place on Zoom on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30pm (PST). Contact somserve@uw.edu for the zoom link and/or to be included on a meeting agenda. | |
