2016 Nobel prize in physics Links to an external site. awarded to UW physics Emeritus Professor David Thouless, along with Duncan Haldane (Princeton) and J. Michael Kosterlitz (Brown). Some of the cited work was done in the 1980's after Prof. Thouless arrived at the UW, in collaboration with Prof. den Nijs and others.
