Group protocol

GROUP WORK PROTOCOL

To maximize opportunities for meaningful learning and class engagement in the course during your group work, you will create a protocol that builds on our class community agreement, the English department values, and the group members’ personal circumstances.

Some things to consider are: 

• How will the group honor our classroom agreement and the English department values?
• When it comes to planning for the group’s work management, what personal situations should you consider (people’s jobs and schedules, identities and backgrounds, preferences for technologies, access, learning styles, etc.)? 
• What formats will ensure that you communicate effectively and inclusively throughout the different projects? (texting, Zoom, email, etc.) 
• How will you decide how to split work-load and responsibilities in the most equitable way possible? 
• Is there anything else that will maximize your group’s opportunities for successful collaboration? 

The format of the protocol is up to you. You may write a list of bullet points, a report-like text in paragraph form, a table, etc., but the whole group has to sign off the document.
