Atmosphere L3: Mitigation and Adaptation
Based on what we now understand about the underlying mechanics of climate change, what potential policy solutions exist for 1) mitigating its underlying causes, and 2) adapting to its forthcoming effects?

Here is the recording I made (at home, so sorry if you hear any kids/dogs in the background!) for today's lecture. I don't go over the policy timeline in the lecture but am including the slides in the link above if you are interested and want to look more closely into that information - but don't worry, it won't be included in the final exam!
Atmosphere QS2: Carbon Dioxide Markets
This week's readings consider the role of carbon markets as a regulatory measure to address climate change. You will build off of last week's readings on trees to consider reforestation efforts as a voluntary carbon market case study. Do international reforestation schemes (perhaps most famously the REDD+ program) actually work? Who benefits and who loses?

Atmosphere L4: Vulnerability & Resilience
In the ecosystems chapter, we learned about the concepts of vulnerability and resilience as they relate to ecosystems - but how do they apply to human populations in the context of climate change? We will also learn about the concept of adaptive capacity.
