Video Teaching Demonstration
Once during the quarter, you will be responsible for one 20-minute teaching presentation with a 15-minute follow-up discussion with the Practicum members.
Please videotape 20 minutes of your teaching and be prepared to show the video on the day of your presentation. We will view your teaching together with your classmates and you will receive feedback from the rest of the class in a supportive, positive, and uplifting manner.
The feedback will revolve around these questions:
- What are the goals for the lesson? How are they accomplished?
- What worked really well in the lesson?
- How do students respond to the activities?
- What would you like to take away from it? What teaching ideas and strategies did you identify?
- What else is going on in the classroom that shapes the outcomes of the class?
In addition, you will have a chance to tell us what else you’d like feedback on.
On the day of your presentation, please bring copies of the lesson plan of the session, including a brief description of the class, students, classroom setting, and objectives. You might consider including the lesson plan as part of your portfolio when you complete your master’s degree.
Upload the video or a link to it together with the lesson plan on Canvas
