Instructions

We have come a long way this quarter, and some of us have lived through some very stressful times. Before I lay out instructions for this survey, I want to thank all of you for the effort you put into this class, the kindness and respect you have shown each other and myself, and -- for most of you -- the steady improvements I have witnessed in your reading and writing skills.

In theory, this survey is required of all students. Over the eight surveys so far this quarter, the median time it has taken to complete them is 4 minutes. That is what I was aiming for.

But I'm offering an opt-out if you are just too stressed at this time -- the first question allows you to choose to proceed or opt out. Opt out and click submit.

Also, I am not asking any questions that will appear on the formal class evaluation. There is no need for duplication. In about a month, I will receive the results of those evaluations and plan to spend a couple weeks processing what they tell me, and how they square with our weekly surveys. I plan to write myself a long note for my records narrating what I learned from your responses on surveys and the evaluation, so I can use it to prepare for next year's classes.

Your submission will be anonymous and will not be graded. Canvas will record whether you engaged with this survey. You get one point (out of the 100 for the quarter) for each weekly survey submission.
