Welcome to the Ethical Conduct & Academic Integrity: Protecting Human Subjects in the Global Health Setting course.

Course description

The course is divided into 4 modules, each about 30 minutes long. We want you to be able to confidently conduct your program activities in an ethical and responsible manner, to protect human subjects, and to keep I-TECH’s reputation as a respected research institution intact. This course will help you understand the principles and requirements around ethical standards and academic conduct, and apply those standards to our program work. The four modules are

Module 1: Overview

Module 2: IRB and Ethics Committees

Module 3: Human Subjects and Informed Consent

Module 4: Academic Integrity

Please be sure to take the CITI training either before or after completing this course and submit your certificate of completion. Assignment 1 has more information about how to do this.

In addition to taking the CITI training and this course, I-TECH requires you to take a yearly training on ethics and academic integrity. We will be offering webinars annual webinars, beginning in 2015, which will give you a chance to ask questions about the IRB and ethics oversight process and to discuss ethical issues in general.
