Welcome to my English 111 Portfolio for Fall Quarter 2016!

This portfolio is a compilation and metacognitive analysis of the work I've done this quarter. The UW English 111 curriculum entails the completion of four intricate outcomes, which can be reduced to these four descriptions: targeted strategy, intertextual utility, argumentation, and revision. Throughout this portfolio, I will further expose what these outcomes are and how my classwork demonstrates their fulfillment. I will use a variety of materials: writing assignments, instructor feedback, and class discussions. The writing assignments include three short assignments: SA1 Close Reading, SA3 Argument Analysis, SA4 Research Abstract, and the final Research Paper. As the portfolio progresses, I will discuss my flaws in composition and how I fixed them; the most significant of these flaws was that of narrowness – a recurring theme of my growth as a writing student through this quarter.

The first drafts of my work, with Navid’s comments, will be titled and cited as “Sekar SA0 NE.” The final drafts will be clearly titled with “Final” at the end of the file name, and will be cited as “SA0 Final.” Reading responses will be cited as their title, with the form “Date_AuthorofWork Reading Response.”
