Citation Management Tools: Quick Cite Tools

Most databases or research tools, such as UW Libraries Search, Ebsco’s Academic Search Complete, Google Scholar or Web of Science, have a built in citation function that can generate a citation at the click of a button. Please make sure to double-check your citations when using these tools as they are machine-generated and may contain some errors. 

Below is an example of where you can find the quick cite tool within the UW Libraries Search. You can locate the citation function in most every database or research tool by locating the “cite” or “citation” button.

UW Libraries Search has a built-in citation generator when searching for sources. When looking at a source, simply click on the "Citation" button located at the top of the page, select your preferred citation style, and copy your citation to your clipboard.
