JOURNAL ONE

Please write about one page of personal response to each of the films and critical essays on the assignment list. Please write this segment (Journal One) as a single, double-spaced Word document with 12-point Times New Roman font. Write your name and ‘Journal One’ at the top of the first page and number the pages.

Please type your journal entries into a single Word document, including your name and numbering the pages. Please follow the order below and write about one page, double-spaced, of analysis (not description) of each of the following readings and films.

Since I am your audience, there is no need to identify characters or summarize the plot. I am looking for the quality and depth of your engagement with the material, even if in fragmentary form. This is an opportunity to raise questions that you have about the reading or film, as well as to note what issues you find especially provocative or striking, due to either their content, their form, or their philosophical or moral implications. You may want to suggest parallels between the text you are analyzing and other texts we have read and films we have watched in class. What you write in your journal will also help shape your group discussions the following day in class. 

Your complete journal should contain 11 entries, in the order listed below, and should be at least 11 pages long. Please upload the journal as a single Word document to our Canvas site by 7 pm on Friday, January 27. Please note that, through Canvas, your journal will be submitted to Vericite.
