HEADS-UP RESEARCH INTEREST STATEMENT

For this activity, I would like you to compose a research interest statement ( 1 page single spaced). The purpose of the statement is to start framing the final project/article and the rest of scaffolded-course activities based on your experiences, needs, and questions about a specific topic. 

In your statement, please respond to the following questions by writing a cohesive statement: 

1. What general topic would you like your research to be about? Some examples include: multilingual literacies in the writing classroom, World language heritage speakers’ attitudes towards their languages, teacher identities, equitable pedagogies, etc. 
2. What are your connections to the topic and positionalities? 
3. What research methodologies would work best to address questions emerging around your topic? (You can be as general or concrete as you’d like, since we will continue developing research questions/goals and methodological approaches throughout the next few weeks). 
4. What are other specificities you’d like your work to cover (specific demographics, research sites, ethical considerations, etc.)?
5. Do you have any questions or comments that can help us think about how to best move forward with your ideas?

This is an ungraded activity, but it counts as participation and engagement. Most importantly, it is essential for you to complete it in order to get feedback and/or comments that will help you continue to develop your work successfully.
