Final Paper

Your final assignment is a paper of about 8-10 pages (single-spaced, Times New Roman 12pt font), connecting some of what you have engaged in this course with your own research question. It should incorporate at least three references from ANTH 567 and three additional references, but it can incorporate more from either group.

In developing your argument and choosing your sources, keep in mind that this paper could serve as preliminary work for the development of your own research competency paper, general exams, and eventually your dissertation research. Try to identify a question that matters to you at this point in the PhD program and connect it with some of the readings engaged in this course.

This exercise is meant to help you sketch perspectives for your own project and research interests as well as to help you develop academic writing skills. You will be evaluated based on the clarity of your argument, and the support you draw from the scholarly materials. 

Please include a list of works cited as a final page in your document using AAA-Chicago Style 17th edition, following the guidelines detailed on the AAA website. Links to an external site.
