Activities: Finding Your Balance

Finding your balance in undergraduate research is a personal journey. There will be ups and downs but you’ll eventually find your stride. Choose at least 1 activity from the list below. It’s up to you and your needs on which you choose.

Self-Care Brainstorm Activity

Write down a few small things you can commit to doing each day or week that are purely for you to enjoy, stress-free. Some potential ideas are:

  • Going for a walk after lunchtime
  • Meditating for 5 minutes
  • Writing down some thing(s) that you’re grateful for, or that made you smile

Plan A Week Activity

Practice planning your upcoming schedule following either Academic Support Programs’ Time Management resources or the Husky Experience’s Time Management: Creating a Weekly Schedule template.

Envision a time you will need help with your research project. Which people do you want to connect with? What do you want to share with them and what you want to get from them?
