Within the Mesopotamian worldview as we’ve discussed it, what would it be like to be a ghost? Write me a story of at least 850 words describing the life of a ghost. In your story, make sure you tell me…

• Who were you when you were alive?
• How were you buried? How has that impacted your afterlife?
• As a ghost, what have you experienced in the underworld?
• What have you done in the world of the living?

You don’t need to tell me these things in any particular order, as long as you include them all.

You may use first or third person narration, dialogue, poetry, prose, whatever seems good to you, in the construction of your story. But please do check your spelling, grammar, and clarity. I can’t give you credit for something if I can’t understand what you’re saying.

It is perfectly fine to spend more time writing about things we know more about. Your story should use what we’ve discussed in class as its foundation.
