General Instructions

You should plan to do one of each of these short writing assignments. Each one should be done in response to or in conversations with single week's reading and will be due at the end of the week in which we discuss that work.

You may do them in any order you wish, and there will be weeks in which you don't do any.

Always make sure to note which assignment you are doing at top of your submission.

Double-space, 1 inch margins, 12 point font. Unless you have artistic reasons for doing otherwise.

Specific Instructions

Choose a short passage from the week's reading that you loved or hated. Yes--please go for strong emotions.

This could be as short as a single sentence or as long as a page (but no longer than that)

If it's a sentence or two, type it at the top of your assignment and tell me what page to find it on. If it's longer, tell me the page and, if necessary, which paragraph.

Explain why you loved or hated this passage as a piece of writing. Be as specific as possible.
