Reading Review 3

You will do three reviews over the course of the quarter. For these assignments, you will read an extra reading, summarize it, and review it in 2-3 pages double-spaced. Choose readings labelled EXTRA on Canvas that are secondary sources (scholarly discussions published within the last hundred years). Turn your reviews in on Canvas. Obviously, you cannot review the same reading more than once.

Your review should include: Full bibliographic information on the article/chapter, a summary of the article (What is the evidence? What argument does the author make based on that evidence?), and a discussion of the significance of this information for our understanding of Jewish identity. You may also include a critique of the author’s argument if you desire. Make sure to write clearly and to check your work for grammar and spelling errors.
