Week 8 Response

Prompt 1) Why do the worlds of the Marvelous People Duke Ernst encounters in the East resemble the medieval German world and court so much? How does "Otherness" work in the text?? 

Prompt 2) How did the different versions of the story we discussed in class change to suit their specific audiences, contexts, and cultural settings? What do these changes reveal about the literary tastes, expectations, and values of readers at the time?
