Assignment #1: Project idea and research methodology

This quarter the Mech class will focus on a larger-scale artwork that will be developed throughout the course of ten weeks. The work has to be focused around the concepts of the Anthropocene Era, Posthumanism, or the Non-human, topics that will be discussed in the classroom and incorporate the creative coding, electronics, and fabrication techniques that you have learned in the previous class in more complex systems and interactions, that will allow you to further your research methodologies. Your project has to have a mechatronic installation, hybrid system, immersive environment, or media performance format and has to be scalable and adaptable to be exhibited at the DXARTS gallery space in McMahon.
