Another aspect of writing that is important is being able to integrate texts from multiple kinds of sources into your writing. In fact, in most academic essays you have to be able to not only integrate multiple texts into your essay, but you also have to do it in the correct format. Outcome 2 deals with being able to "read, analyze, and synthesize complex texts and incorporate multiple kinds of evidence purposefully in order to generate and support writing". This is an important aspect of writing to understand because being able to make use of other sources correctly adds a certain amount of credibility to the essay, greatly enhancing the essay and causing the reader to take the essay more seriously.

In Short Assignment 2.2 I was asked to find a news article and write an academic essay about it; rhetorically analyzing the news article and how it conveys its message to the audience. Through this assignment I clearly demonstrated the goals of Outcome 2 by using evidence from the news article like facts about Disney's past successes with mergers. I provided information such as how Disney "paid $7.4 billion for Pixar" and in return "made hits such as ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Finding Nemo’" in order to help generate, as well as support my writing (Evans 2), making it more credible as well as showing that I understood and was able to incorporate the source within my writing . In this assignment I also demonstrated the goals by correctly citing the article both within the text as well as in my works cited page. I chose what evidence that I used from the article in a strategic manner and made sure all of my citations fit within the MLA guidelines.

Overall, I demonstrated this outcome all throughout my paper. It is evident wherever I am incorporating ideas from the article that I used, as well as whenever I am talking about the overall message of the article. Talking about what I think the message of the article is while using evidence to support it helps show that understand the sources and that I am able to integrate them into my essay correctly. By using the aspects of writing within Outcome 2 my paper has become much more credible than it would have been without any evidence from the article.
