Although there are many aspects that make up a good essay, there is one aspect that is not only the most crucial, but the most difficult aspect to perfect. Being able to create a complex claim that encompasses everything within your paper is one of the most difficult things to do. Outcome 3 deals with being able to "produce complex, analytic, persuasive arguments that matter in academic contexts", focusing mainly on the aspects of a complex claim, persuasive and articulated stakes, organization, and analysis throughout the paper. This aspects within Outcome 3 are very important aspects because they are what makes the paper persuasive and able to achieve their overall goal, whether it educating the public, a call to action, or a simple analysis. Overall, the aspects within this outcome are the main contributors in making a paper persuasive and can either make or break your paper. 

Out of all the paper that I have written this quarter, I believe that my second Major Paper was most successful in demonstrating the aspects of Outcome 3. For instance, it is evident that my claim "Through the use of imagery and tone, this news clip effectively evokes an emotional response from the audience about the tragedy of the airstrike while communicating its overall message that nothing good comes from war." did not only outline what the rest of the paper is going to be about, but it was complex and integrated the stakes in as well. Additionally, my essay greatly analyzes the problem of the Airstrike in Gaza and how the news reporters were portraying the story. The paper was also very organized; starting out by introducing the problem, and getting more and more into detail as the essay progressed.

Overall, in my paper this outcome helped to make it much more persuasive, as well as flow much easier than it would have without a strong complex claim, persuasive and articulated claims, and good organization. Most of all it was the claim provided the backbone for the rest of my paper, and helped me to make the paper flow.
