Outcome 4

            In order to meet the requirements of Outcome 4, I chose Short Assignment 2.1, as this was the assignment that I had received the most constructive feedback from my teacher. My idea and claim fell in the outstanding category and was accompanied with a strong introduction as well as organization. The issue that I had here was that I struggled to develop my claim and find strong, interesting, accurate and useful information as sources for my body paragraphs. I had tackled the issue of Roland Barthes’s three messages, but I was not successful in transmitting my ideas clearly. This was partly due to me not being able to envision my ideas clearly in my mind and therefore it was very difficult for me to describe and develop them in my writing.

            I printed out the copy that my instructor had revised and grabbed a few pieces of paper, so that I could study my work and break it down. I made my own revisions on the paper, and then accompanied with my teachers revision, wrote down a rough draft of what my assignment would now discuss. The rough draft I made completely re-wrote the introduction as well as the first body paragraph. The second and third body paragraphs were simply edited and redundant information was removed and some new, more relevant information was added. All the grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary errors were revised, and the final draft was submitted. This outcome was by far the one that I struggled with the most, as I had already struggled with this assignment. I found it to be very difficult to be able to explain my ideas clearly once again, and to add to this, I found myself having to do this assignment in the midst of being sick again. The first part of the week, up until Wednesday night, I felt great. This was when I was able to complete Outcomes 1-3, and it was near the end of Outcome 3 that I started to become sick again. Nonetheless, I finished Outcome 4, which represented the last step in completing my English 131 course. I hope I did not do too bad on Outcome 4.
