Reactions
Zoom Reactions
Reactions allow participants to give real-time, non-verbal feedback and responses during a meeting without interrupting the speaker.
After someone clicks on a Reaction icon, the reaction appears on the corner of their video feed and next to their name in the Participant pane. Emoji reactions will only remain visible for a few seconds, while other reactions (yes, no, I'm away, and raise hand) remain visible until the participant or a host toggles them off again.
The Raise Hand reaction mimics a respectful, in-classroom request to voice a response or make a comment. An instructor can conduct a question-and-answer session by asking a question, then calling on someone who "raises" their hand.
To check for understanding or gauge the mood of your class, you can ask a question and request that students respond using the emoji of their choice (sad/happy/etc.).
In the first session or two of a new class, it's a good idea to point out the Reactions feature for your students and set expectations for how you hope to see these used in your class.
